Esquisse maison hantée

Cut the piece of tracing paper to the size of your jar:

  • diameter + 1.5 cm of glue strip × height
  •  Using the template as a guide, draw the haunted house landscape and 'spooky' details (dead trees, bats, graves) in pencil, then add the moon.

  • Paint the design using India ink with the different brushes.

  • Irregularities in the ink flow will show through when the candle jar is lit and enhance the dilapidated appearance of the house and surrounding landscape.
  • Leave to dry.

Esquisse à l'encre maison hantée

  • Draw the moon using the Copper Acrylic Marker
  • Leave to dry.

  • Draw the clouds at the top of the landscape using the Precious Black Acrylic Marker, making them pass in front of the moon.

  • Make small dots using the marker and blur them with your finger while the paint is still wet. Work in small areas, centimetre by centimetre. If necessary, strengthen certain areas to achieve denser clouds.
  • Leave to dry.

DIY photophore

  • When it is completely dry, if the tracing paper has curled a little, you can leave it to flatten out under a pile of books for a few hours until it is fully dry.

  • Then glue the strip on the side to seal the design. Slide the jar inside.
  • Then place an LED candle or a battery-operated garland inside the jar to light it.
